When entering A Prima Dance Event Championship you are automatically agreeing to all the terms and conditions below. By entering you agree that the rules are non-negotiable.
All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone with a DBS or their parent.
Changes to music submissions cannot be made after the programme has been sent out.
To ensure costs are kept low for entrants and the viability of events:
Each participating dancer must have their own full paying parent/guardian present, i.e. 1 adult per 1 participant* Not including siblings, 1 parent can be present with participating siblings.
Teachers/parents must not bring groups of dancers on behalf of absent parents without prior written agreement.
If a paying parent/guardian is unable to attend, then the dancer can still attend with another adult, however a payment would need to be made.
Individual circumstances may be accommodated, but this must be emailed and agreed in advance.
The organisers, staff or representatives of Prima Dance Events are not responsible for any claims for damages, loss or injuries sustained while taking part in a Prima Championship evemt.
Anyone failing to follow rules of Prima Dance Events or causing a disturbance will be asked to leave the competition and will not receive a refund. We hold a zero tolerance of verbal abuse to any staff members of Prima Dance Events. Any problems found within Prima Dance Events please report to the front desk reception staff, please do not approach the judging table.
By entering Prima Dance Events championships you are giving permission to be on social media with the use of competitors photography and videos (Facebook, Instagram, twitter etc.)
Communication with the judges at Prima Dance Events is strictly prohibited.
The judge’s decision is final.
All competitors must present themselves at the registration desk upon arrival at least one hour prior to their section start time. Failure to sign in will result in the competitor being announced as not reported and unable to compete.
All music must be provided and uploaded online.No music will be accepted on the day. Music used must be age appropriate with NO explicit language.
Please bring a backup CD/LAPTOP/USB.
Prima Dance Events reserve the right to change venue if the need arises, no refunds to be made.
Men are not allowed in the girls changing areas under any circumstances, we have a separate changing area for boys.
Prima Dance Events championships are entitled to run up to one hour ahead/behind of schedule. It is your sole responsibility to ensure you are aware of the times of your performances.No responsibility will be taken by Prima Dance Events for missed performances. Any competitor not backstage when called will not be able to perform out of schedule so this will result in missing their routine.
Prima Dance Events provide a professional independent photographer at all locations.
Please leave changing areas as you found them.
Age is based upon the age of entrant upon 1st day of the event. Winner will enter the relevant national final regardless of age at time of final.
Teacher permission should be given to enter.
No pointe work for entrants 11 years and under.
No vocals allowed on the track whilst entrant is singing.
No tap sounds on tracks.
Modern: Please ensure the entry is modern jazz or pure contemporary jazz. Anything that could potentially be interpreted as lyrical is not suitable.
All competitors must be accompanied by a full paying and spectating adult.
No filming or photos.
Once a winner has won one regional championship title they are not permitted to enter any other heats in that genre. Any pre booked future championship fees would be refunded.
Music must be in MP3 format, clearly named with dancers name and dance of entry. EG: BETHANY FIRTH SENIOR BALLET
There are no refunds for not being able to attend, so please ensure that you are able to commit to the event. However in the event of any waiting lists being in place and the space being taken, then a refund may be granted.
Time limits:
Juvenile – Ballet, tap, modern 1minute 30 seconds. Song Dance 2minutes and 30 seconds
Junior/Senior – Ballet, tap, modern 2minutes . Song Dance 2minutes 30 seconds
Miss/Master – 3 mins
*** If there are a few extra seconds on the track this is fine, however anyone with a routine that is excessively over the limit may be asked to stop before the end of their routine. ***
AWARDS
1st Trophy, sash & gold medal – Qualify for national finals.
2nd – Sash & medal (Reserve for finals if winner cannot attend)
3rd/4th/5th/6th – Medal
Miss/Master – 1st Trophy, sash, medal, qualify for national, 2nd Trophy, sash medal and qualify, 3rd medal.
All placed competitors will also receive a Prima Certificate
