DO TEACHERS SUBMIT ENTRIES OR PARENTS?
This is entirely up to you. Most customers, it seem to be parents, but some teachers/schools do it on behalf of their students. Just remember that every dancer needs a Prima Passport registered to their name, and the heat entries need registering to the dancers name. Always check your confirmation email for links to do this.
How much is it to enter a Prima Championship?

£10 per heat title.

How much is to watch a Prima Championship?

£10 per person per day.

To ensure costs are kept low for entrants and the viability of events:
Each participating dancer must have their own full paying parent/guardian present, i.e. 1 adult per 1 participant* Not including siblings, 1 parent can be present with participating siblings.
Teachers/parents must not bring groups of dancers on behalf of absent parents without prior written agreement.
If a paying parent/guardian is unable to attend, then the dancer can still attend with another adult, however a payment would need to be made.
Individual circumstances may be accommodated, but this must be emailed and agreed in advance.

Teacher Wristbands

For financial viability of events I have had to re evaluate the distribution of free wristbands for teachers. I hope you can understand the reasons for this. The running costs associated with these events are continually increasing. This includes, venue hire, adjudicator fees/travel/accom, insurance, medals, trophies, sashes, certificates, staff and my own time to putting these events together.

The following rules now apply:

If you are a teacher and you have a school attending, for which you are playing the music for yourselves, then you get 2 free teacher wristbands.

If you are a teacher and you have a school attending, but you are not playing music, then you get 1 free teacher wristband. All other spectators must be paid for.

If you are a teacher and you only have your own child performing, then no free wristband can be given. The a spectator wristband must be paid for.

Thank you for understanding

Will there be dressing rooms?

Yes dressing rooms will be available. Boys must ask at registration where they should change. The dressing rooms get very busy and very crazy! Please only use them for getting changed and ready. It is unsafe to use a dressing room as a practise or stretching space so please find another area. Parents please limit the time spent in the dressing room. Also only use rooms that are designated as dressing areas as some rooms maybe unsuitable or not private, which then becomes a safety and safeguarding issue.

What is a Prima Passport?

The Prima Passport is £10 and covers you to dance in any Prima Championship for the year purchased. It covers admin, insurance and the playing of your music at the championship.

Can a parent/guardian stand at the side of the stage?

I’m afraid not. For safeguarding purposes and safety, parents are not allowed in the back stage area. Parents can be in the dressing rooms.

Will there be food available to purchase?

Yes, every region will have food available to buy to keep you going throughout the day. Caterers may vary.

I have never competed before, can I enter?

I’m afraid not. These championships are for those who regularly win 1/2/3 places in local festivals. Compete at a local festival and once you are winning your sections get yourself booked on!

Who are the judges?

Our judges are all highly qualified and extremely experienced adjudicators. They are hand picked for the feedback and atmosphere that they create, making sure everyone has a great experience.

What do I win?

All competitors receive a comment certificate. All top finalists receive certificates and medals/badges. The top 3 receive gold, silver, bronze medals and 1/2 receive trophies and sashes.

The 1st and 2nd place receive trophies,  sashes and medals at the grand final. They also take the 2022 national title knowing they have competed and won against possibly 240 dancers nationwide!

Who goes to the grand final?

The 1st place from each title go through to the grand final and the 1st and 2nd in Miss/Mstr Prima also go through. If the 1st place cannot dance in the final then the next mark down takes their place.

Can I take my own photos and videos?

I’m afraid not, due to safeguarding.

If I cannot dance can I have a refund?

What about safety and safeguarding?

All Prima Dance events are fully insured and we have risk policies in place to keep everyone safe. There will be first aid trained people, first aid kits available and our staff have DBS certificates.
